What is the European Forum for New Ideas?
The European Forum for New Ideas is one of the largest conferences in this part of the continent, dedicated to global trends, new ideas and the future of Europe. Business representatives, charismatic speakers, leaders and policy-makers as well as authorities from the world of culture and science discuss the most important challenges for business and societies in a changing world, global trends and the future shape of the European Union during dozens of events, panel discussions, open meetings, counterpoints or night owl discussions. Every year, the Forum gathers over a thousand participants – representatives of the world of business, science, culture and administration, Polish and European alike. The European Forum for New Ideas has been organised since 2011 by the Polish Confederation Lewiatan in cooperation with BusinessEurope and the city of Sopot.

Andrzej Bobiński is the Managing Director of Polityka Insight. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Managing Director responsible for business activities. He sits on the board of the Abraham Jakub Stern. He is a fellow of the Polish Economic Institute. Doctor of law and lawyer specializing in civil and economic law, a graduate of the Jagiellonian University and the University of Cambridge.

Rafał Rudziński has held managerial and executive positions in Polish companies of the Bosch Group for many years. Sociologist and policy analyst, President of the Institute of Public Affairs, one of Poland’s leading think-tanks. In the 1980s Kucharczyk was active in independent student movement and clandestine publishing in Poland. He has been a co-founder and board member of a number of international NGOs, including Prague Civil Society Center, Policy Association for an Open Society PASOS and the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD) in Brussels. Dr Kucharczyk is also a Chair of Scholarship Program Advisory Board at Open Society Foundations and in 2008-2015 served as Advisory Board member of OSF Think Tank Fund. In 2009-2015 he served as board member of the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw. He is currently a board member of Oko.press foundation.
Dr Kucharczyk has authored and edited articles, reports, policy briefs and books on European integration, democratic governance, populism and migration policy. He is the creator and co-author of the Polish-German Barometer, a cyclical study of public opinion in Poland and Germany.
Dr Kucharczyk received PhD in sociology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. He studied at the Graduate School for Social Research in Warsaw, Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in New York, the University of Kent at Canterbury (MA in philosophy) and Warsaw University (MA in English studies).

Thomas Behrens has been a project coordinator in the team of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's international office in Warsaw/Poland since April 2021. He has already worked for many years as an independent, project-related staff member for KAS Poland, numerous partners of the International Office (Institute of Public Affairs (ISP), Centre for International Relations (CSM), Bertelsmann Foundation, Kreisau Foundation for European Understanding and others) as well as private companies. He studied law at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg and political science at the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University in Bonn. He wrote his master's thesis under Prof. Dr Gerd Langguth in 2011 on the topic of power-political asymmetry in German-Polish relations since 1998.

In 2015 appointed Head of Citi and Head of Corporate and Transaction Banking in Ecuador.Returned to Europe as Citi Country Officer for Switzerland, Monaco, and Liechtenstein in 2019. Ms. Elżbieta Czetwertyńska is a graduate of the Faculty of Nutrition Sciences, Economics and Marketing at the University of Reading in Great Britain.

Ms. Karin Sköld took up her current position in September 2020. Previously, as the Area Director, she was responsible for the development of the brand on local markets outside Warsaw. She started in 2003 in the IKEA Kållered store in Sweden. Throughout her career, she was involved in supply planning, purchasing strategies and management, and worked as a Project Manager for IKEA Food Services in Sweden. She was also an Assistant to the President of the Ingka Group and then managed the IKEA store in China.
